This is a self-drive / bareboat rental. No skipper is on board, so the boat is yours during the agreed rental period. It is simple, quick and fun, and the motor has been in regular use by the owner. WHAT YOU CAN DO Explore Hurdal Lake at your own pace• Fish for pike, perch, trout, whitefish and other inland species (fishing permit required)• Swim and stop at suitable beaches/coves• Go ashore where public access is permitted• Picnic by the water• Add a tube or water-ski package when available and conditions/insurance allow• Add fishing gear, tent, lavvo, storm kitchen and camping equipment DRIVER REQUIREMENTS The driver must meet Norwegian legal requirements for operating this boat.Drivers born in 1980 or later must hold a valid Norwegian boating licence or a recognised foreign equivalent because the engine is over 25 HP. Drivers born before 1980 may operate within the Norwegian legal exemption where applicable. Foreign certificates: EEA boating certificates are recognised according to their stated rights. A qualifying ICC is accepted in Norway. Other foreign certificates may be accepted if they are substantially equivalent and issued in English or a Scandinavian language. Send the certificate type/country before booking if you are unsure. A short practical handover is included before departure: starting/stopping, steering, throttle/gear, trim, kill switch, anchoring, fuel, local hazards and return procedure. WATERSPORTS & SHORE STOPS Tube and water skis may be offered as optional extras when weather and insurance conditions allow. Suitable flotation equipment is required for anyone being towed. Guests may stop at suitable beaches and uncultivated shoreline where access is permitted. Private gardens, private docks, cultivated land, protected areas and locally restricted areas must be respected. FISHING A Hurdal Lake fishing permit is required for freshwater fishing. It can be purchased online through Inatur. The lake is listed with species including trout, pike, perch, burbot and whitefish. It is the freedom to take a small Norwegian motorboat out on a big lake and build your own day: fishing, swimming, beaches, watersports or a simple camp-style adventure. Before approval I may ask for your driver age, boating qualification and intended use. Rentals are subject to safe weather and a successful handover briefing.
